Amazing that the countryside cats stayed in place as I approached, ever so carefully, with a camera. I had been in the countryside shooting photos when I came upon the farmhouse and the cats sitting on the storm shelter beside an old pump. There were more cats around the house. They looked well fed and tended. I wondered if they ate cornbread. I knew an old woman who fed the wild stray cats cornbread. This photograph digitally painted in a soft colored pencil style with added texture.
