As I traveled along an old two-lane highway in the middle of Kansas, I spotted the red-tailed hawk on the power pole. It was early morning and she was probably scouting for rodents. I stopped my truck and grabbed my camera with attached zoom lens, and popped up over the cab adjusting the camera. She stayed and did not fly off, turning her head to watch me. Normally, hawks will fly off. I snapped photos of her as she turned her head watching me and the ground below. I was pleased to finally get another photo of a red-tailed hawk after several years of no luck. The photograph was processed with added textures as fine art photography.
